Things have started to progress right along with the adoption of our baby girl. This has been going on for a year now. We were starting to think there was no end in sight. Started to think CPS just enjoyed watching us jump through the loops while they did nothing. We had hoped last year to adopt on National Adoption Day but CPS had not even started the paperwork for the adoption.

Here lately, we have been waist deep in court hearings, paperwork, updating our home study, medical documents, and trying to find out why things had stalled. The judge finally stated, “Get this child adopted or else.” We were worried the “or else” could mean moving her or looking for a new adoptive placement since things had stalled with our placement. The “or else” was aimed at CPS since they have not done a thing for over a year to get this baby girl adopted. Our baby girl has been with us since she was two months old and is now two years old. So, we are very much attached and the thought we might lose her was unbearable. This along with all the other personal struggles and grief that my family and I are going through at this time, needless to say is a lot to deal with. Hopefully, October will bring peace and serenity to my family.

We have received her case file from CPS so, things are moving on along. I was quite shocked to receive a case file over three inches thick since we have had her most of her life. I do not think you can be prepared to read about the trauma that is a part of your child’s life.

The great news is that we have a scheduled date for the adoption. It is going to be on National Adoption Day, YEAH!!! October, we will be busy tying up loose ends for the adoption and making sure no unforeseen problems arise.
