Yes, the odds increase toward becoming an abuser if you grow up in a dysfunctional home and don't get counseling. However, my sister and I had all of the odds stacked against us, and yet neither of us would EVER hurt a child. As an abuse survivor myself, this is a “hot topic” for me. Yes, the odds increase toward becoming an abuser if you grow up in a dysfunctional home and don’t get counseling. However, my sister and I had all of the odds stacked against us, and yet neither of us would EVER hurt a child.
