The Important Things in Life

IF I HAD MY CHILD TO RAISE OVER AGAIN
If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the lover of power,
and more about the power of love.

We just have this moment in time. We have no guarantees what tomorrow will bring. Take the time to enjoy the time you have with your loved ones. Our lives and world have became so busy that we forget to cherish and enjoy the small things that happen daily. We get so caught up with what we what we are doing, and not living for what we should be doing. The people, friends, foster children and loved ones that are in our lives need to know what they mean to us. We may only have them a short time, so love and cherish every moment you have with them. The memories you are making today, will be your treasures in the future. Time will be gone before we know it.

Happy New Year to all. Cherish your loved ones and your time with them this new year. Stop and enjoy them and life. In the end, will what you are doing be important? Spend time with your family and loved ones doing what you love.

In memory of Our Beloved Addy!!

“And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.”
Abraham Lincoln
