We received our adoption re-certification in the mail yesterday. Woo-Hoo! Now all we have to do is wait for a court date for the adoption finalization. It's been just over one year since we met our daughter, and we can't wait for her to finally, officially be with her forever family. And neither can she. Not that it will totally change her attitude in regards to her feeling entitled to anything and everything that she thinks she should have, but maybe she'll begin to appreciate all that we have done for her and will continue to do. She has also given a lot to us, and when all the dogs are so excited to see her when she comes home from school, it brings a smile to our faces.

Sarah, our Teagle (a Beagle mixed with something that likes to bark profusely, like a Terrier), is our daughter's main squeeze. We adopted Sarah also, she was a stray, and we think she had a girl before she came to us. But Sarah had been waiting so long for another girl, and she finally got her! Now she sleeps with the kid most every night, and there is no way she is leaving. I can't imagine her with a foster kid, and how devastating that would be for both of them.

So, just so everyone knows, there are some amazing kids in the foster care system, many of which are older and would make a great addition to any family, including yours. Keep your mind open and be very patient, because hardly anything worthwhile comes quickly (apparently).
