This time of the year I always find myself thinking of the children that I have parented through foster care that have gone on to another placements or with family members. It does not matter if I only parented them for a short period of time or a long one. My family talks about different children time to time when something reminds us of them and we find ourselves traveling down memory lane.

These children were a part of my family for time and I truly care about what happens to them. Most of the foster children that have come into my home I have had the chance to love them and call them my son or daughter. These children have come into my life through parenting and they have taught me so much. A piece of these children are in my heart and will always be there.

I wonder if some children have found a way back to their biological families and pray that things are okay in their home. I hope the foster children that had their parental rights terminated have found a forever home to call their own. The foster children placed with other family members I pray give them the love and life they deserve. The most troubled foster children that had to be placed in treatment centers to receive the care they needed, I pray that someone was able to reach them and help them. These kiddos are the hardest ones to think of. They did not deserve the life that was dealt them but are unable to let go and deal with what has happened.

I wonder if all the children a have called mine (yes, even though they were foster children they were mine for a short time) are safe, happy, healthy and moving on with their lives. They were mine to care for and love for a period in their lives and I am grateful for that time, while they are no longer with me they we always be part of me.
