Hello... My name is Lanette and I’m a new blogger for foster care. I am a wife and a stay at home mom. My husband and I have been fostering about five years. It is something that has brought great joy to our family. We have been blessed with the gift of adopting two of our foster children. I have a bio daughter (12), adopted daughter (3), adopted son (5) and a foster daughter (15 months). We have the joy of not knowing how many will be at our dinner table from day to day. I enjoy my dogs, children and working on our house. We have moved to the country, brought an older home, and we are restoring it. Restoring the house was turned into a big challenge and a great learning experience for all of us. Who knew I would learn about plumbing and be able to install a wood burning fireplace into our older, but new to us house?

I knew from a young age that I wanted to foster and adopt. I have been blessed with the ability to parent and love children in the foster care. I have learned for each one of them, and I look forward to sharing my personal experiences (the good and the bad). I hope to provide you information, resources, ideas, and food for thought concerning fostering children.

We foster therapeutic children for a private agency. We have learned so much along our journey with all of our foster children. We also have done respite for other foster families, as they have needed it.

My greatest joy is being a Mom. My bio daughter, Allie is 12 years old, adopted daughter Beth is 3 years old and my adopted son Lynn is 5 years old. Right now, we are fostering a little girl (14 months old), we call her Baby Boo. Baby Boo has been with us since she was 2 months old.

I was adopted as a baby with my sister. I was given a wonderful chance at a life and I wanted to give someone else the chance I was given. That is how I got started on this journey. My family decided that we wanted to give back by fostering children in need. Funny how it turns out that we get so much more out of it than the foster children. Fostering is what you and your family choose to make out of it.

Hello Lanette! It is so interesting to read ur blogs. My family and I will be moving to a bigger new to us house in March and we hope to start fostering then also. I am clueless to fostering but consider myself a great parent. We have wanted to foster for the longest time but we are determined to get into our home by Spring so that we can go ahead. I enjoy all the info you provide.
