Encore School of Dance in Saginaw, Texas will be offering free dance classes for the upcoming summer and fall sessions to local foster children. Classes start out as young as three years old and to teens.

This is a great way for a foster child to develop self esteem build his or her confidence, and have the opportunity to make new friends. Dancing can be a wonderful may to get children involved in some exercise. Taking dance can help your foster child focus his or her attention and develop self discipline. Dance can also be a wonderful opportunity for boys to of all ages.

It is a wonderful thing for a foster child to be able to explore his or her ability to learn to dance. Who knows? A child may end up finding something that he or she loves to do and become a talented dancer.

There are classes for all ages and all different types of dance.

Preschool: Ages 3, 4 and 5. This dance class will develop coordination, body awareness, and rhythm, by learning the basics of ballet, tap and creative dance.

Ballet: Ballet is the foundation for all dances and is extremely important.

Tap: Coordination, body awareness, and rhythm are increased benefits from tap.

Jazz: The techniques ballet and the rhythm of tap are used in jazz.

Hip Hop: An integration of jazz and popular hip hop music and style is the bases of hip hop. This is a high energy dance class and can be very popular with teens.

The dance studio does have some more advanced classes, if your foster child does see a future for his or herself in dancing.
